Canada Membership
How it Works
Members receive notification of NDPC news and updates via email, including occasional discounts and rewards.
Riders are put into 4 separate divisions. Open, Adult Amateur, Young Rider (17-21), and Junior (16 and under). The NDPC uses the age as of December 1st of the competition year.
The NDPC competition season begins November 1st and concludes on October 31st annually, and membership must be renewed each year to remain valid.
Pony/Riders and Small Horse/Riders can become members at any time during the competition season before Midnight EST on October 31st. Scores for Year-End Awards will be retroactively counted back to the beginning of the season.
Scores from each level, from any Equestrian Canada show, will count toward Year-End Awards. We pull scores from the EC website for Gold and Silver shows, and from EC, Fox Village, and Compete Easy for Bronze level shows when available.
A minimum of 2 scores is required per level. If you only have one score at a level, you will be greyed out in the standings and your score will be in yellow.
Equitation, Opportunity above Introductory Level, and Young Horse tests are not eligible for these awards. Materiale classes only count with a Breed Membership.
It is the responsibility of the competitor to make sure that we have all scores recorded. If any scores are missing, please e-mail the score sheets showing the date, test, score, and judge’s signature to karen@dressageponycup.com by October 31st at midnight EST.
ALL scores are counted toward Year-End Awards. No tests will be accepted after the October 31st cut off date. The scores plus the degree of difficulty points will be added together and divided by the number of tests to come up with your average. We will update the standings on a monthly basis.
There are 4 types of memberships: Classical Dressage, Western Dressage, In-Hand Breed, and Dressage Schooling.
Owners, trainers, and coaches do not have to be members. Each rider must be registered for each pony or small horse for scores to be collected for Year-End Awards.
Young Rider and Junior memberships may be purchased at a discounted rate.
Additional membership types may be added to an initial membership purchase at a discounted rate.
Supporting Memberships are available for those who would like to support and connect with the NDPC but do not currently ride or show a pony or small horse. Supporting Members will receive a special thank you gift! We appreciate ALL of our members!
Pony Measurement Cards must be on file, and NDPC Small Horse Measurement Forms must be on file with the NDPC by Midnight EST on October 31st for the NDPC to officially count scores toward the Year-End Awards. Please email measurement forms to karen@dressageponycup.com.
If you are viewing the monthly Year-End Standings and you see that your name is greyed-out and the placing number skips you, it means we were not able to verify the Pony or Small Horse Measurement at the time of the standings. If you believe this is an error, please contact the NDPC and ensure that we have your measurement on file.
